Learning Support Plans
A Learning Support Plan is a document which details specific areas of academic support for a specific student. These can include Exam Requirements like extra time or use of a PC, Library support like extended library loans, course support such as using note-taking equipment (eg a dictophone) in lectures and seminars, among other things, and are tailored to the student in question. We base these LSPs on a discussion with the student, wherever possible, and their medical evidence. We need a GP letter or a dyslexia assessment to put a Learning Support Plan in place.
An updated Learning Support Plan is also created as part of any Needs Assessment for DSA. This is no different from the LSP we create as soon as you provide us with medical evidence, however it may be more detailed or include more as we will have a better idea of the student’s individual needs as a result of the assessment.
