Student Wellbeing: Staying Safe on a Night Out

The Student Wellbeing Team will be in the Minerva Building between 11am and 3pm to chat about staying safe on a night out. We will be out offering advice on how to keep yourself and others safe on a night out, including what to do if you think you’ve been spiked, to basic first aid and apps that can help keep you safe.

Today we’re talking about misconduct, and how to report anything you or someone you know may experience. You can find out more on our website here.

 

International College: How to be a Successful International Student

For us success is not a destination but a journey. In this session we will explain what success looks like and how you, as an international student, can secure it at every step of the way. We will shed some light on certain issues which may stand as a hurdle against success and offer some guidance and practical solutions to maximise your chances of achieving the best results and fulfilling you potential. Knowing your new learning environment and understanding the university’s expectations at the start of the academic year, for example, will minimise obstacles and ensure success. 12-1:30pm, Isaac Newton Building Lecture Theatre (INB0114).

International College: How to Succeed in Written Assessments 
This important talk will come in two parts: Part 1 (led by the Chair of Academic Offences Committee) will help you understand the University’s regulations regarding academic integrity. Part 2 (led by the Library and the International College) will provide practical advice on finding and using information to help you develop your ideas and opinions whilst avoiding plagiarism. 12-1pm, Isaac Newton Building Lecture Theatre (INB0114)

With technology ever advancing, it’s important that you know how to keep yourself safe online as well as in person. With information on reporting things on social media, knowing how to stay safe with online dating and who to speak to if you if you need some help with gambling or gaming.  Check out our information on Staying Safe and Gambling.
