The International College team supports University of Lincoln students for whom English is a second or additional language. Students are encouraged to develop and build their confidence in English language and academic study skills.

We are friendly, welcoming and are here to help students to adjust to life in the UK whilst studying in Lincoln. Our tutors are experienced at working with international students in Higher Education and provide English language support to help students to succeed on their chosen course of study. Alongside our tutors, the dedicated administration team assist with enquiries and point students in the right direction.

The International College provides English language tuition in three different areas: Degree Preparation Programmes, Pre-sessional, and In-sessional. The following explains the three different strands of support available:

Degree Preparation

These pathway programmes incorporate English language modules, as well as additional academic support, to help students progress to main degree programmes. These include Engineering International Foundation Year, International Year One, and Pre-Masters. Pre-sessional

Pre-sessional English Language & Academic Study Skills (PEASS) – students who do not meet the English language entry requirement for a degree course can join an intensive 5- or 10-week course, which has a lower English language entry requirement.

Successful completion of PEASS allows students to progress to a University of Lincoln degree. More information can be found here: Pre-sessional English and Academic Study Skills (PEASS).

Pre-sessional English Language Preparation (PELP) is an intense 5- or 10-week English language course, specifically designed to progress students to a University of Lincoln International Year One degree preparation programme. In-Sessional

Students already enrolled on a University of Lincoln degree programme are encouraged to develop their English language skills. They can join the optional courses, workshops, and one-to-one English language support sessions, at no additional charge. More information can be found here: In-sessional English Language Support
