Supporting Students – Information for School Staff

The University is changing the way academic support is implemented for students. Where students previously declared a medical condition or disability to the university and received support with a PASS Plan, many of the reasonable adjustments are now being made a part of everyday teaching and learning.

These reasonable adjustments should be implemented by the school where possible within the context of the school and course mode of delivery, without this having to be confirmed in a formal document by Student Wellbeing.

For a student that requires reasonable adjustments that are outside the remit of the Reasonable Adjustments Guide, Student Wellbeing will work with the student to create a Personalised Academic Study Support (PASS) Plan. Please be aware that PASS plans are shared on a school based level, so this will be shared with the specific school that the course the student is enrolled on belongs to.

We have created a guide for students to help understand the changes and how to access reasonable adjustments.
